Our Energy Future

By 2030, Colorado is aiming to reduce carbon emissions by 80% and be 100% carbon free by 2050. Solar, wind, geothermal, and battery storage systems are projected to be Colorado’s primary form of energy within the next 15 years.

In April 2022, The Clean Energy plan in Colorado was formed to pave the way for coal to exit the energy industry by 2031. New clean energy will be introduced to the energy sector which includes solar and geothermal systems. With roughly 20% less of a carbon footprint than coal, solar and geothermal energy will dominate the Colorado economy for years to come.
